George Joseph Rieder, Jr.

George Joseph Rieder, Jr, 46, of Gloucester City, NJ, passed away on February 4, 2017.

He was born on October 19, 1970 in Camden, New Jersey to Elizabeth (Rhoda) Rieder and the late George Joseph Rieder, Sr. He was a graduate of Gloucester City High School in 1989.

In George’s younger years, he enjoyed playing football and basketball. He was an avid Eagles fan. He liked fishing, billiards and traveling. His family will remember him as a very good-hearted helpful man.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents Margaret and Frederick H. Rhoda of Gloucester City, NJ, grandparents Mary and Bernard Rieder of Gloucester City, NJ, aunt and uncle Chris and Bernard Rieder of Gloucester City, NJ, great aunt and uncle Rose and George Emery of Gloucester City, NJ, nephew Matthew Sacilowski of Summerville, SC.

George is survived by his mother Elizabeth (Rhoda) Rieder of Charleston, SC (formally from Gloucester City, NJ, step mother Patricia Rieder of Newbern, NC, sister Michelle Hickman and her husband Mark Hickman of Jacksonville, NC, sister Donna (Rieder) Sacilowski of Summerville, SC, sister Margaret Rose Rieder of Charleston, SC, sister Kathleen (Rieder) Cohen and her husband Jeff Cohen of Charleston, SC, niece Annie Sacilowski of Summerville, SC, great nephew Matthew Sacilowski Jr of Baltimore, MD and cousin Brian Rieder and his wife Sari of Lake Worth, FL.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at McAlister-Smith West Ashley Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
