Philomena L. Francin, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina entered into eternal rest with her family by her side, Thursday, April 20, 2017.
She was born on December 20, 1935 and raised in Belleville, New Jersey to the late Anthony and Ann (Brienza) DiMeo. Her brothers and sisters include Philip DeMeo, Diane Gareffa, the late Anthony DiMeo, and Michael DiMeo.
Philomena was a graduate of Belleville High School, and pursued a career in paint manufacturing where she rose through the ranks at Hartin Paint and Filler Company to the position of Vice President which she retained until she retired in 1995.
She enjoyed socializing with friends, dancing, and being with family. Her family will remember her as full of life and as a very special wife, mother, sister, and friend. Philomena and her loving husband Anthony Francin celebrated their 25th anniversary this past December in Mt. Pleasant.
She is survived by her four children Loretta Simek of Whippany NJ, Robert Edwards of Garner, NC, Ann Edwards of Bloomfield, NJ, and Carl Lejuez of Lawrence, KS.
The family will receive friends on Sunday April 23 from 6pm-9pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Mt Pleasant. The Celebration of Life Service will be Monday April 24 at11am at St. Benedict Church in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and a memorial mass will be held in NJ in May.
