Anne Julia Welch

Anne Julia Welch, 91, of Mt. Pleasant, SC died on Thursday, April 9, 2015. She was born on Wednesday, September 26, 1923 in Owego, NY to the late Mrs. Lena Drose and the late Mr. George Kushner. Anne was a manager at IBM Research Triangle Park, NC and was responsible for the development of the Key Punch Card System. She enjoyed celebrating her family, grandchildren, nieces and nephew; Kay, Christine and Gary. Anne created many wonderful memories for her loved ones. Her family will remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Charles Daniel Welch, of Mount Pleasant, SC; and one daughter, Dianne W Trumbull (William), of Charleston, SC; and four grandchildren, Charlie, Jacqueline, Nicole and Andrew, of Mt. Pleasant, SC. A Prayer Service will be held at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 7:30 PM with Father Vincent Maroun officiating. Entombment will follow Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Pine Forest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 770 Stadium Drive, Wake Forest, NC 27587. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her honor to Hospice of Charleston, 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mt Pleasant, SC 29464.
