Ms. Barbara Elaine Hall, 68, of Summerville, SC, died on Friday, January 23, 2015 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. She was born on Wednesday, October 30, 1946 in Arcata, CA to the late Mrs. Veda Stone and the late Mr. George West. Barbara and Hershel Hall were married by President Thomas S. Monson in The Salt Lake Temple on April 1, 1964, for time and all eternity. Barbara was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she found her calling serving as a youth leader. She found joy serving the elderly. She enjoyed traveling, visiting her grandchildren, shopping trips and any activity that allowed her to spend time with her family. She is survived by her son, Mr. Hershel Hall, Moncks Corner, SC; son, Dr. David (Diana) Hall, Charleston, SC; daughter, Mrs. Patricia (Robert) O'Brien, Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Amanda and Andrew O’Brien, William and Logan Hall, sisters, Mrs. Helen Hanner, Mrs. Carol Bingham, Ms. Ann Marie Chorn and brother, Mr. George Dennis West. She was predeceased by her husband of 23 years, Hershel Hall, and her son, James Allen Hall. A Funeral Service will be held at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 3:00 PM with Bishop Ronald P. Hallam officiating. A private burial will be held in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Summerville, SC. Arrangements have been entrusted to McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC 29414, 843-722-8371.
