Bruce N. Van Fleet III

May 25, 1942 — April 12, 2015

Bruce Newton Van Fleet III of the Lakes Region, New Hampshire, passed away suddenly on Sunday April 12, 2015 on the Isle of Palms in South Carolina. Bruce is predeceased by his parents, Marjorie and Bruce N. Van Fleet Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida. He is survived by Linda, his loving wife of 35 years, his beloved children, sons- Bruce and Dana, their wives Lisa and Cheryl and daughters- Jennifer and Kimberly and her husband Jake. Cherished and devoted Grandfather to Adam, Stephanie, Preston, Ryan, Hailey, Tristan, Aidan and Skylar. A dedicated and loving brother to George and his wife Virginia and sister, Barbara. Uncle and Great-uncle to many nieces and nephews. Graduate of Northeastern University, member of the National Guard and successful entrepreneur. Bruce took risks, ventured into and created several lifelong businesses. He was the founder of the Cask 'N Flagon bar and restaurant in Boston. Bruce's extraordinary presence, love and dedication to his family and friends was endless. His big heart, compassion and generosity were beyond compare. Bruce had an adventurous spirit, from piloting his own plane, island hopping the Bahamas, driving cross country yearly in a 40' motor home, cruising the lake on his jet ski, hiking up Red Hill, walking Egypt Beach, or texting 'LOL' to one of his grandchildren, he loved life and lived it to the fullest. In his honor and at his request, a 'Celebration of Life' gathering will be held at the Cask 'n Flagon, 62 Brookline Ave, Boston MA. on Sunday, May 17th from 2-4 pm. A second gathering in his honor will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 6:00-9:00 PM in New Hampshire. Please contact McAlister-Smith Funeral Home for Details.
