Catherine White Seyle, 71, departed her loving family on Saturday, October 23,2021. She passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones and prayer.
Cathy was born in Charleston, South Carolina on February 13th, 1950 to Leland and Winifred Budds White. Raised here with her 9 siblings, she was a proud lifelong Charleston native. She graduated from Bishop England High School and began a long career with the Charleston Naval Shipyard.
She married Warren Seyle Jr. in 1972 and became a loving and devoted mother to Habib, Kevin, and Melissa. She cherished her family and there was nothing she would not do for her three children, five grandchildren, and great-grandson.
Cathy worked 24 years for the Charleston Naval Shipyard and, upon its closure dedicated another 18 years to the Charleston Air Force Base as a Supply Technician. She retired with several commendations and awards for her outstanding performance as well as some lifelong friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Leland and Winifred Budds White, her husband, Warren Seyle Jr., and siblings, Leland White Jr, Devineau White, Francis White, and her best friend, Dianne White.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Habib Wakil (Ndeye) of Moncks Corner, Kevin Seyle (Julie) of Johns Island, and Melissa Muse of Charleston; her grandchildren, James, Dalton, Cate, Charlie, Khadija; and her great grandson, Greyson.
Aside from the children, grandchildren, great-grandson she doted on, Cathy is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Carole White, Rosemary Ryan, Elaine Roff (Bill), Johnny White (Lydia), Stephen White (Tina), Winifred Dworschak (Manfred); and many nieces, nephews, and their children.
A visitation will be held Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 6pm-8pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation, 2501 Bees Ferry Rd, Charleston, SC 29414.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, October 29th, 2021 at 11:30am at The Church of the Nativity, 1061 Folly Rd, Charleston, SC 29412.
