Cynthia Jean 'Cindy' Jones (Ferguson)

Cynthia Ferguson Jones, 54, of James Island, wife of Steven Jones, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014. She was born on December 31, 1959 in Jacksonville, FL to Paul Hartwell Ferguson and Barbara Eunice Ferguson. Cindy received an associate’s degree from Anderson College, a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a master’s degree from The Citadel. She taught at schools in Beaufort and Charleston including James Island Christian School and James Island Charter High School. Cindy was a National Board Certified teacher and a passionate educator. Cindy is survived by her husband Steven, her sons Mark and Michael, her parents, her brother Hardy Ferguson and his wife Joelle. Visitation will be held 6-8pm Monday, July 7, 2014 at Harbor Light Baptist Church, 1300 Fort Johnson Rd, James Island SC. Family and friends are invited to attend her 11am funeral service at Harbor Light Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Beaufort Memorial Gardens on Copeland Drive in Beaufort, SC at 2:30pm. In addition to flowers, memorial donations may be made to Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Michigan Health System, 3003 South St., Suite 9000, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1288, 888-518-7888.
