David Paul Adams

David Paul Adams, 68, of Goose Creek, passed away July 11, 2014. He was born on April 8, 1946 in Erie, PA, a son of the late Vernon L. Adams and Helen Pastuka. David graduated from Strong Vincent High School, in Erie, PA. In high school, he played baseball, won trophies in bowling, and he collected stamps. David had an after school newspaper route so he could earn money for his baseball cards. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army serving as a Military Policeman during the Vietnam conflict. He was a disabled veteran. He retired from Haysite Reinforced Plastics as a Flat Sheet Operator. His hobbies included stamp collecting, baseball sports memorabilia, and playing pool. Since childhood he was an avid New York Yankees fan and had the opportunity to meet Mickey Mantle. He had a great love for children and Mickey and Sadie, his fur babies (his kids). He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carene “Kay” L. Adams of Goose Creek; one brother, Sonny Adams and two sisters, Marilyn Gaber and Arlene Miller of Erie, PA; brother in law, Dennis Trbovich and his wife Franci; sister in law, Anna Elmen; two nieces, Marci Berry and her husband Tim and their children, T.J., Ella, and Hunter; Melissa Digiacomo and her husband Tony and their children, Jacob and Brenna; two nephews, Jesse Trbovich and Adrian Trbovich; a special aunt Helen Blazevich; his cousin, Viola Ellis; and extended family members. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ryan Paul Adams; brother in law and best friend, Gene Trbovich; brother in law, David Miller; great niece Maddison Berry; and his mother in law, Nelle Trbovich. A private funeral service will be held at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel.
