Dominic Salvatore D'Amato

CHARLESTON - Dominic Salvatore D'Amato, 64, of Folly Beach, SC died on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. He was born on July 17, 1950 in New Haven, CT to Sue D'Amato and the late Salvatore Anthony D'Amato. Dominic was the owner of Double D Promotions. He loved the Folly Beach community and will be deeply missed by many. It’s been said that with his passing, a light has gone out at Folly Beach. He is survived by his mother, Sue D'Amato of Ct, his former wife Katherine J Gallagher of Charleston; two daughters Ramona MacLean (Bradley) and Monica L Rhoad (Christian); four grandchildren Rose MacLean, Bradley MacLean, Georgia MacLean and Finn Rhoad, all of Charleston, and one brother, Dennis D’Amato of Florida. He is predeceased by his father Salvatore Anthony D'Amato. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 8:30am to 9:30am at McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, JAMES ISLAND CHAPEL, 347 FOLLY RD., CHARLESTON, SC 29412 (843) 614-8494. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following the visitation at 10:00am on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
