Doris Mae Martin

Doris Mae “Dot” Martin, 81, of Summerville, died Friday, September 16, 2016. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Parks and Josephine Keel. Dot was the manager of many restaurants around the Charleston area. She volunteered with the Association for the Blind and was a member of the Post 3142 VFW Auxiliary in North Charleston. Survivors include her sons Edward E. Martin and wife Myra of Summerville, Terry C. Martin of Dallas, Georgia; Robin L Martin and wife Lynn of Summerville, and Kelly J. Martin of Connecticut; sisters, Bobbie J. Grier of Alabama; Charlotte D. Phillips of Florida; her beloved dog Pee Wee; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, niece, nephews, and extended family members. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 6:00 pm, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends after the service until 8:00 pm.
