E. Carlton (Doug) Douglas

E. Carlton 'Doug” Douglas, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, SC entered into eternal rest with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, He was born on Saturday, March 6, 1937 in Pasadena, CA to the late Mrs. Frances Douglas and the late Mr. Alexander Douglas. Doug proudly served his country in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was the President and Founder of Ramapo Sales and Marketing Incorporated of North Charleston, SC, and played an important role in the domestic and international glass industry for over 33 years. He enjoyed fishing, golf, cooking and spending time with his family. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Douglas, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Anne Williams (Chuck), of Mount Pleasant, SC; Carlton Douglas, Charleston, SC; Jason Douglas (Debbie), of Charleston, SC; 6 Grandchildren, Ryan, Allison, Paul, Cameron, Emma and Callan; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Father Vincent Maroun officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Garden Cemetery. Memorial donations in his name may be made to Cholangiocarcinoma.org or Hospice of Charleston.
