Edward Johnson Jones, Jr.
February 18, 1947 — September 24, 2020
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Edward (Eddie) Jones, Jr. of Mount Pleasant, SC and Ocean Isle Beach, NC on September 24, 2020 at the age of 73 years.
Eddie will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Diana Jones; his son Dr. Edward (Trip) Jones, III; his daughter-in-law, Dr. Meredith F. Jones; and his grandson, Edward Jones, IV.
He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Mike McGee, along with their 2 sons, Michael and Christopher; and nephews, Trevor and Wesley Gray. He is remembered by
numerous other family members and friends. Eddie was the son of the late Edward Jones and Vivian Jones Beresoff, both of Whiteville, NC.
Eddie served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. He served as a Boy Scout during his childhood and loved helping with his grandson's troop in South Carolina. He
had a love of golf and was passionate and cared about all of those around him. His family was always first and he was always ready to help anyone in need.
The family would like to thank Shem Creek Health Center at South Bay for the wonderful care that Eddie received. Eddie will be cremated and his ashes will sit at the Camp Methodist Church in Shallotte, NC.
A memorial service and visitation for Eddie will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, it would mean a lot to the family if donations were made to his grandson's, Edward Jones, IV, marching band, Wando Warriors, in South Carolina. Donations can be made to the following: Wando Band Boosters, PO Box 927, Mount Pleasant, SC 29465.
