Eleanor J. Schunck

Mrs. Eleanor J. Schunck, age 84, of Charleston and widow of the late Lawrence S. Schunck, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 at her home.
Eleanor Schunck was born on August 16, 1932 in Kirtland, Ohio to the late Grant Nathan Downing and Julia Anne Vamos Downing. She was a 60 year member of Willoughby Methodist Church in Willoughby Ohio. She enjoyed square dancing with the Buckeye Squares in Willoughby. Her family will remember her as a loving, compassionate and giving person and she was devoted to her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Gale Raab (Richard) of Charleston; her grandchildren, Mitchell Raab, Meagan Raab, Lindsey Weidner, Julia Weidner and Colin Weidner; and 2 great-grandchildren, Justice and Zane Raab.
In addition to her husband of 63 years, Eleanor was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Marie Weidner, and her 2 sisters, Dorothy Armstrong and Grace Phelps.
A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St., Beaufort, SC 29902.
