Elsa Schuch Burch, 86, of Charleston, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018.
Elsa Burch, the daughter of Austrian immigrants, was born on June 20, 1931 in New York City, NY to the late John and Martha Kaiser Schuch. She was married to William Carroll Burch for 41 years until his death in 1998. She was a retired school teacher. Mrs. Burch enjoyed traveling with her daughter and son-in-law and visited many countries with them, among them were China, Mozambique, Kuwait and all over Europe. Elsa also enjoyed going to movies, eating out with friends and taking cruises.
Elsa lived with her daughter, Lizbeth Rice and her son-in-law Kelly, as well as her three grandsons, Maxxym, Beckett and Jaxxyn.
Mrs. Burch’s family will receive friends on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 5-6pm at McAlister-Smith, James Island Chapel. The rosary will be recited at 5pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Nativity Catholic Church, 1061 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412. Friends are welcome stop by after the service at 1205 Stone Post Road.
