Elsie Baty

Elsie Acerra Baty, 86, of Goose Creek, went to be with her Lord on July 26, 2015. Born in Mechanicsville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Michelina Acerra and wife to the late Eugene Baty. Elsie was a retired beautician and enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and sewing. She was an active member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Goose Creek, where she was involved in the Women’s Ministries and also attended Carnes Crossroads Church of God. She is survived by her children, Desiree Baty Tillman of Charleston, Gordon “Chip” Baty and wife Susan of North Carolina, David Baty of Goose Creek and Debra Boland and husband Tim of Columbia; grandchildren, Lauren Tillman, Hunter Tillman, Sara Baty, Timothy Rogers and wife Marie, Randa Rogers, Sherry Rogers, Kevin Rogers and Sarah London and husband Jeremy; three sisters, Carm Scelci of New York, Mary Doriski and husband Paul of New York and Ida Guyer of Maryland. Elsie is also survived by six great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 31, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Carnes Crossroads Church of God. Burial will follow in Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at church.
