Frederick Eugene Roark, Jr.

February 5, 1969 — January 30, 2019

Gene would be fifty next week, a milestone he will miss. He left this life too soon, but not without leaving a positive mark on the life of his family and so many other people he met along the way.

He has departed, leaving two daughters, Delaney and Cassidy; an older sister, Katie Stroble. Gene also leaves his stepmother,Joyce; two brothers-in-law, Jeff Strobl and Mark Fertmann; and three nephews: Connor Strobl, Jackson Stroble and Justus Fertmann, who Gene loved so much, all who will miss him. Most of all, he will leave behind a father, Fred Roark, his friend and golf partner.

Gene had skills for his work and an outgoing personality reflected in the fact that he never met a stranger. Gene loved people and was a gifted conversationalist. He loved football and was a walking encyclopedia of the sport. Notre Dame and the Miami Dolphins have lost an avid fan.
