George L Dallas, 89, of Charleston, entered into eternal rest on August 04, 2020, surrounded by his family.
Born on October 30, 1930, in Charleston, George was a son of the late Thomas J Dallas and Marie J Dallas.
George worked most of his life as a professional pipefitter and a member of the local plumber and pipefitter union. He was a devout Catholic and was an active member of Blessed Sacrament in West Ashley. George greatly enjoyed spending time with his family over a cup of coffee and dessert. He loved old movies and television shows. George loved dogs, especially his trusted companion, Magic. He never met a stranger and was always willing to give the shirt off of his own back to help someone in need.
Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Catherine Elizabeth Dallas and his daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Larson.
George is survived by his children: George Dallas, Jr., Ann Stromquist, Thomas Dallas, Margaret Boyd, Joseph Dallas, Mary Picado, and Robert Dallas; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 12 from 9:00-11:00 am at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC. A service will immediately follow the visitation at 11:00 am. Burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island following the service.
