Gloria Y Manning

Gloria Manning, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, SC and formerly of Weston, CT died on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Roper Hospital, Charleston, SC. Ms. Manning was born on Monday, November 28, 1927 in Englewood, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Mary T. Lamb Kenny and Edward F. Manning. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother; Frank E. Manning, Sr. Gloria worked for GE Capital, in Fairfield, CT, for over forty years. She lived in Weston, CT and was involved with the Republican Council Committee and was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She loved working with the music ministry, the youth of the church, and the gardens surrounding the church. Gloria is survived by her sister with whom she made her home; Joanne Nevill, of Mount Pleasant, SC. She was loved by her nieces and nephews; Nancy (Ken) Stoudenmire, Patricia Jackson, John T. Nevill, Laura Nevill (Sandy Wozniak), Maryanne Nevill, Christopher E. (Dawn) Nevill, Margaret Nevill (Jake Knight), Frank (Beverly) Manning, Jr., Jay B. Manning, and Terry Manning. She was also surrounded by her grandnieces and grandnephews: Peter (Jennifer) Brown, Todd Stoudenmire, Kurt Stoudenmire, Alexendra Wozniak, Michaela Wozniak, Taylor Nevill, Caitlin Nevill, Frank Manning, III and Sloan (James) Houston. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, July 26, 2014, in the Chapel of McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Chapel. The Family will receive friends immediately following the Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to ”The Beach House”, Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
