Harriet Ann 'Nancy' Guerard Conway

Mrs. Harriet Ann 'Nancy' Conway, 68, wife of Frank 'Mark' Conway, III, of Johns Island, SC, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Nancy was born December 1, 1945 on Sullivan's Island, SC the daughter of the late Edward P. Guerard and Ann Walker Guerard of Mount Pleasant, SC. Nancy was a graduate of Winyah High School, Georgetown, SC where she set an all-time basketball scoring record playing for Winyah. Nancy was also a Cheerleader for the school. As an adult, she was an avid tennis player and her team won the regional 4.0 tennis championship in 2002. She also enjoyed boating, skiing and many other outdoor activities. Nancy was an active member at Bethany United Methodist Church of James Island and the Charleston Area Ladies Tennis Association. Some additional volunteer activities include; Gray Ladies, First Steps in Brunswick, GA, Submarine Commanding Officers Wives and Ombudsman. Her family remembers her as a loving wife, mother and friend. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 48 years, Mark Conway; her mother, Ann Guerard; her sons, Frank Conway, IV (Jenny) of Daniel Island and Kenneth Conway of Johns Island; her brothers, Edward 'Ted' Guerard (Betty) of Mount Pleasant, Henry Guerard (Marsha) of Mount Pleasant, and Rev. William 'Bill' Guerard (Donna), of Milltown, NJ. Nancy was the proud grandmother of Claire and Caroline Conway. Visitation with family and friends will be held Friday, October 3rd, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464; 843-884-3833. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 4th at Bethany United Methodist Church of James Island, 1853 Maybank Hwy, at 10 AM.
