Helen Lenora Jones Beshere, 96, of Summerville, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2014. She battled the effects of Alzheimer’s throughout her last years with courage and dignity. Helen was born January 13, 1918 in Charleston, the daughter of Robert C. and Elizabeth Louise Bowick. She attended Mitchell Grade School and Memminger High School. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a wonderful seamstress who taught all three of her children her art. Helen was a stay at home mom. She had a wonderful flair for decorating and keeping her home well organized. Her efforts to make her home that way created a loving and welcoming sanctuary for her husband and children. She was a faithful member of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and Blessed Sacrament Church. She will be deeply missed by her children: Helen Patricia Beshere Bizzell of Kinston, NC, Mary Ann Beshere Schoch (Bernard) of Summerville, and George A. Beshere, Jr. (Jeannie) of Florence. Bizzell, Jr. and Ronald Ware Hatchell, Sr. Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, 28 Sumter Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483.
