Henry 'Hank' Salvador Miro

January 17, 1940 — July 17, 2014

Henry “Hank” S. Miro, 74, of Goose Creek, passed away July 17, 2014. Born in Miami, FL, he was the son of the late Rafael and Otilia Miro and husband to Von Rogers Miro. He served in the United States Air Force, United States Navy and United States Marine Corps. Mr. Miro retired from the Air Force Reserves and Evergreen International Airlines as a flight engineer. Hank was a member of Crowfield Baptist Church and was an avid golfer and member of Crowfield Golf and Country Club. He was a Mason and a Shriner. When he was not on the golf course, he enjoyed playing cards and being with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Von Miro; son, Jeff Miro and wife Kim of Simpsonville; daughter, Carolyn Ell and husband Dave of Fayetteville, NC; five grandchildren, Chad Miro, Madison Miro, Ashley Ell, Joshua Ell and Teresa Ell; brother-in-law, Richard Rogers and wife Karen of Charleston; three sisters, Peggy Gilbert and husband Richard of Williston, FL, Angeles “Punky” Ramsey of Lauderdale Lakes, FL and Judith Coppolillo of Pompano Beach, FL. Hank is also survived by many nieces, nephews and family members. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL. The family will receive friends prior to service from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 950 W.
