Hugh Harold Gerena

Hugh Harold Gerena, 46, of Harleyville, South Carolina passed away to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 14, 2017. He was born on February 25, 1971 in Charleston, SC to Efrain and Ana (Ramirez) Gerena. Hugh grew up in North Charleston, SC and graduated from Goose Creek High School. He received his associates degree from Trident Technical College. He enjoyed beekeeping, farming, riding his motorcycle, and repairing vintage cars. He was in the process of planning his marital future to Midge Nabors. Hugh was also a beloved son, brother, and uncle that loved helping people.

Survivors include his mother Ana Gerena; fiance Midge Nabors; brothers Nelson Gerena (Diane), Walter Gerena (Debbie), Johansson Gerena (Robyn), and Rex Gerena (Raegan); sisters Myrna Doiron (Dennis) and Wanda Archambault; as well as many nieces and nephews. Hugh was preceded in death by his father, Efrain Gerena.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 6-8 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the same location.
