Irene Mary Link

Irene Mary Link, 93, of Summerville SC , previously of Cape May, NJ and wife to the late Andrew Francis Link of Cape May, NJ entered into eternal rest on April 25, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Born on November 21, 1927 in Philadelphia, Irene was daughter of the late Francis DiRago and Laura Mae DiRago and sister to Doris Ray.

Irene graduated from Simon Gratz High school in the class of 1945. She enjoyed playing Bingo and listening to music and watching the Philadelphia Eagles. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren in sports and their activities. She was an avid pet lover and donated to local shelters.

Irene was predeceased by her husband, and parents. She is survived by daughters Irene Mary Wilson (James) of Charleston, SC, Andrea F Bumgardner (Butch) of Summerville, SC. Grandchildren: Michael A Smith (Gwendolyn) of Hanahan, SC, Bryan K Smith (Melissa) of Mt. Pleasant, Timothy A Smith (Rachel) of Newport, AL, Andrew K Smith (Meredith)of Birmingham AL, and Jodi Cosgrove (Matthew) of Summerville, SC. Great grandchildren Jessica Smith, Michael Smith, Journey Smith, Myles Price Smith, Charlotte Anne Cosgrove, Hatcher Kenneth Smith

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the McAlister-Smith Funeral Chapel, 869 St James Ave, Goose Creek, SC 29445 from 10:00am to 11:00am.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 1pm at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St, Beaufort, SC 29902. The burial will immediately follow .
