James E. Cradock

James E. Cradock, 74, of Boston, MA, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Originally from Boston, Jim was raised in Jamaica Plain on Montebello Road, the son of James and Nora Cradock. Jim graduated from Boston College High School, Boston College and Suffolk University Law School. He retired as a Federal Administrative Law Judge and Navy Captain. He dedicated his life to public services and his family. He was a devoted husband and father who was proud of his strong Irish Heritage. He was always full of love, life and laughter. Jim was a passionate Boston Red Sox and Celtics fan, golfer, and an avid reader and writer. He enjoyed the beach and had an enthusiasm for gardening. Most of all, he loved being around family & friends. His smile and laughter will live in the hearts of all that loved him. Jim’s spirit will be carried on by his loving wife, Jean Cradock; four children; three sons, James & Elizabeth Cradock, Sean Cradock, Brian & Amy Cradock; daughter, Kathleen & Aaron Hicks, and 12 grandchildren. Predeceased by his sisters, Patsy Perry, Mary Power and John “Beaver” Power, survived by Helen and Pat Doherty; Christine and Jim (deceased) Tracey, brother Jack 'Butchie' and Susie Cradock, brother in-law Ronnie Perry. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mann & Rodgers Funeral Home, 44 Perkins Street, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish,14 Montebello Road, Jamaica Plain, MA 2130 on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at 2:15 PM in the Bourne National Veterans' Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory can be made to American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451-8750.
