James G. Dolan Jr.

James G. Dolan, Jr., age 87, of Mount Pleasant, SC formerly of Dedham, MA and Waterville Valley, NH, passed away on November 25, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Young) Dolan, his sons, Charles R. Dolan, of Daniel Island and J. Andrew Dolan; daughter-in-law, Sheri; and granddaughter, Lila Mae; and all New York City. He was predeceased by parents, James and Madeline Dolan, of Providence, RI; and brother, Robert F. Dolan, Of Concord, MA. He was born in Providence, was a graduate of Providence College and Boston University School of Law from which he received and LLB, and was a member of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts Bar. Mr. Dolan practiced law in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, specializing in Real Estate Development Law. Representing the Archdiocese of Boston. He successfully defended through the U.S. Supreme Court, the 1969 Massachusetts statute providing for construction of affordable housing throughout the commonwealth of Massachusetts. Mr. Dolan was a retired Colonel in the U.S. Army JAG Corp. He was a former member of the Longwood Cricket Club of Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and teh Sons of Irish Kings of Providence. An Eagle Scout, he remained active in the Boy Scouts of America. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Massachusetts and burial will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
