James Pancake, 83, of Charleston, SC, husband to Rita A. Pancake of 34 years, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 31, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on January 9, 1938 in Boswell, IN, James was a son of the late James H. Pancake, Sr. and Elsie Jane Parsons Pancake.
James enjoyed bowling and was a member of USBC Greater Charleston Association and NRA. He was a TSgt in the USAF, serving in San Antonio, TX; Cheyenne, WY; Italy and Turkey. He did three years in Southeast Asia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Besides his wife, James is survived by two sons: Michael (Sandy) in the Army in Germany and Justin (Felicia) of Austin, TX; three grandchildren: Michael J., Trinity A., and Hayley E.; and three sisters: Judy Linscott of Warfordsburg, PA; Kathy Wyatt of Lafayette, IN and Karen Ferger of West Point, IN.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant.
A Rosary will be prayed at 5 PM.
The burial will be held at a later date in Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in James`s memory may be made to Knights of Columbus, Council #9475 P.O. Box 1292. Mt. Pleasant SC 29465
