Jeanette Marie Poplar, 78, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015. She was born on Sunday, September 12, 1937, in Maywood, IL, to the late Eleanor Bacigalupo Lane and the late James Lane. Jeanette was an artist, and had a great love of art. She had a passion for travel, and a love of good food and good company. Jeanette was a gracious hostess, had a flair for decorating, and she cared deeply about animals. She is survived by four children: Debbie Halbrook and her husband, John, of Charleston, SC; Robert Poplar and his wife, Cindy, of Temple City, CA; Jacquelyn Poplar of Haarlem, The Netherlands; Valerie Hall and her husband, Ron, of James Island, SC; four grandchildren: Jennifer Brigman and her husband, Ricky, of Charlotte, NC; Ken Dyer and his wife, Kellie, of Garland, TX; Annie Young and her fiancé, Wilson To, of West Covina, CA and Kelly Poplar of Temple City, CA; and two great-grandchildren: Judah Mullis of Garland, TX, and Jeremiah Brigman of Charlotte, NC. Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA; The Humane Society; Charleston Animal Society at 2455 Remount Rd, North Charleston, SC, 29406; or L.E.A.R.N.
