Jeffery Jan Swoyer

Jeffery Jan Swoyer, 50, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018.He was born on June 5, 1967 in Reading, Pennsylvania, to Jan and Anne (Althouse) Swoyer.

Jeff was a dedicated family man who would drop anything to lend a hand. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed hunting, the occasional game of golf, and fishing at the lake. Family and friends who spent time with Jeff knew him as a generous, selfless man with a wicked sense of humor. He was an exemplary father to his sons and helped instill within them the highest sense of responsibility and respect. In his sons’ eyes, he was a hero. As a husband, Jeff’s unwavering love and commitment were evident throughout the incomparable marriage shared with his wife.

Survivors include his parents, Robert and Anne Murton; wife, Kellie Swoyer; son, Mason Swoyer; brothers Mark Swoyer and David Murton; sister, Teri Meise; and a niece and nephews who loved him very much. He was preceded in death by his son, SGT Aaron Swoyer.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 18, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home in Goose Creek.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project in honor of his late son, SGT Aaron Swoyer of the Army National Guard.
