John Francis McConnell, 56, of James Island, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at his home. John was born on March 21, 1958 in Edinburgh, Scotland to the late Mary and Thomas McConnell. He was an avid sports fan, particularly Notre Dame, but his true love was his family. John was a kind and gentle soul and put others needs before his. John is survived by his two daughters, Alex and Katie McConnell; his father, Allen Garfield; forever friend, Suzanna Garfield and his life partner Brenda McConnell. Funeral arrangements are private.
