Joseph Andrew Miller

October 2, 1957 — July 10, 2020

Joseph Andrew Miller, 62, of Mount Pleasant, entered into eternal rest on July 10, 2020 after contracting the Corona Virus.

Born on October 2, 1957, in Fairfield, Alabama, Joseph is the son of Dorothy Gilberson Miller and the late Dr. Edwin Hill Miller.
Joe graduated from the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind in 1975.

He was a Roman Catholic. He was the middle of seven children growing up on Sullivan’s Island surrounded and loved by all his brothers and sisters. Joe loved to ride his bike on the beach of Sullivan’s Island, crab, go boating, and swim with his family. Joe loved listening to his radio, especially keeping up with sports, but Joe also loved music and kept his family entertained by dancing the best jig ever.

Joe was also an avid sports fan, baseball being his favorite. Joe’s father took the family on many trips to Atlanta so that Joe could be present when Hank Aaron beat Babe Ruth’s record in 1974. This was a big highlight in Joe’s life.

Joe was a kind, gentle, quiet soul and protector of all animals. Joe will be deeply missed by all his family.

Joseph is survived by his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Gilberson Miller of Mt. Pleasant, siblings, Mary Todd (Craig) of Mt. Pleasant, Anne Walker (John) of Mt. Pleasant, Edwin Miller, Jr. (Lynette) of Mt.
