Jovette 'Tinker' Powell

Jovette “Tinker” W. Powell, 60, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. She was born on Friday, July 1, 1955 in Columbia, SC to the late Mrs. Delores J. Williams and the late Mr. Leon B. Williams. Tinker graduated Spring Valley High School and attend the University of South Carolina. She enjoyed tennis, jewelry design and had a passion for animals. Tinker was a dear friend to many and had a big heart, dearly loved the history of Charleston, especially the ghost tours in the city. Her family will remember her as a loving daughter, mother, and dear friend. She is survived by her son and his partner, Brandon L Powell (Tim Renaud), of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister-in-law, Sally Williams, of Myrtle Beach, SC; two dogs, Pippin and Pepper; and many loving friends. She was predeceased by her loving parents and one brother, Rudy Williams. A Memorial Service will be held at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 on Tuesday, April 26th, 2016, 1:00pm - 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her honor to Pet Helpers, 1147 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
