Karen Elizabeth Brownlee Bessinger, 51, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015. She was born on Sunday, January 26, 1964, in Charleston, SC, to Joan Garner Brownlee and Sam Brownlee of Johns Island. Karen was beautiful both inside and outside to everybody she met. Karen loved her Lord and went to His Word everyday in reading her Bible and had a skill to quote scripture for any occasion. Karen was a devoted Mother and role model to her children, family, and friends. Karen is survived by her parents, Joan and Sam Brownlee; daughter, Rian E. Bessinger Fuller (Jionte); son, Andrew T. Bessinger (Danielle); two sisters, Debra Shelby (Dennis) and Allison Brownlee (Rhett); a nephew, Connor Brownlee and a niece, Logan Brownlee. Memorial contributions may be made to Awaken Church, P.O. Box 81022, Charleston, SC 29416. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Rd, Charleston, SC 29414.
