Kenneth Graham Smith

Mr. Kenneth Graham Smith, 64, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. He was born on Saturday, April 22, 1950, in Charleston, SC, a son of the late Cleveland Smith and the late Annabelle Schill Smith. Kenny graduated from Bishop England High School in 1968. Shortly after graduation, he served in the US Air Force Reserves. He owned and operated Servpro of North Charleston for over 30 years. As a young man, Kenny enjoyed surfing, hunting and camping. He also loved fishing, boating, and fireworks, His family remembers him as having a unique sense of humor and always enjoyed a good party. Kenny had a strong love for his daughters and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Dalton Smith of Charleston, SC; three daughters: Heather Lovett and her husband, Graham, of Johns Island, SC; Meagan Rugheimer and her husband, Pete, of James Island, SC; Emily Burnett and her husband, James, of James Island, SC; four grandchildren: Taylor, Meagin, Mckenna and John Rugheimer; and one Granddaughter Lovett expected in December; two brothers: Cleve Smith and his wife, Janice, and their children, Kevin Smith (Debbie), Jeffrey Smith, Michelle Smith Haak (Tim) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Reggie Smith and his wife, Debby, and their children, Prudence Smith Blum (Matte), Hayden Smith, and Mallory Smith of Charleston, SC; one sister, Lynn Beltz and her husband, Jim, and their children, Laurie Beltz Holscher (Ted), Dana Beltz, and Eric Beltz, of Charleston, SC. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 24, 2014, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel. A memorial service will be held at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel on Monday August 25, 2014, at 11:00am, with Reverend Todd Hadley officiating.
