LESLIE DEAN ARMSTRONG, 58, of Summerville, South Carolina, formerly of Lake Tapps, Washington, passed away December 2, 2016, after a second battle with throat cancer at his home in Summerville, South Carolina. Born October 25, 1958, in Coffeyville, Kansas, he is predeceased by his brother, Robert Dale Armstrong, and father, Robert Lee Armstrong. Les was a devoted, loving father, grandfather, husband and brother. His approach for life was “go big or go home.” His depth of love and caring was enhanced by his beautiful blue eyes, his ready smile and his sense of humor. After spending his youth and part of his adult life in Kansas, he moved to Seattle to work at The Boeing Company. He married Connie Odekirk in 2004, retired from The Boeing Company July 4, 2016, and moved to South Carolina. His interests included baseball, college and professional football, camping, fishing, hunting, outdoor grilling and smoking, golf, cruising, horse racing, and riding one of his two Harleys He will always be remembered for his love and devotion to this family and friends, his “do it my way” attitude - always tempered with his sense of humor, his approach to life and his innate ability to tell a joke and a story. Survivors include his wife, Connie Odekirk, 64, of Summerville, South Carolina, his step-daughter, Danielle Odekirk, 39, of Bonney Lake, Washington, and his grand-daughter, Gabby Armstrong, 19, of Bonney Lake, Washington. He is also survived by his sisters, Claudia Van Dyne and Diana Miller and his mother, Lauretta Armstrong. Memorial Services will be held in Coffeyville, Kansas, and a Celebration of Life will be held in Lake Tapps, Washington and Summerville, SC. Donations may be made in his honor for any Cancer Organization.
