Margaret Flavia Dubey, 99, of Charleston SC, entered into eternal rest on November 18, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 9, 1922 in Detroit MI, Margaret was a daughter of the late Gerard Van Steenkiste and Marie Virginia Van Steenkiste.
Margaret was a licensed beautician, who owned and operated her own beauty salon in the 1940's. That was quite an accomplishment for a woman at that time. Margaret married the late Robert A. Dubey in 1944, and together they enjoyed a 49 year marriage having three children.
Margaret enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and her many friends. In her 99 years, she touched many lives and will be missed.
Margaret is survived by her son Robert (Betty) Dubey, her daughter Janice (Jay) Messeroff, her grandchildren Howard (Erika) Flynn, Molly (Will) Shestko, Melissa (Justin) Olita, Terese Nehra, and Anthony Nehra. Great grandchildren include Sydney and Logan Shestko, Keira and Dylan Flynn, Isabella, Mia, Lucca, Jude and Kellen Olita.
Margaret was pre-deceased by her daughter Suzanne and son-in-law Terry Broemer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Margaret's memory may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Sarcoma Alliance.
Funeral arrangements are private, with no viewings and have been entrusted to McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation, Charleston, SC (843) 614-8494.
