Marie Paula DeMere (Giallombardo)

Marie Paula DeMere, 95, of Mt. Pleasant, SC entered into eternal rest with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. She was born on Thursday, May 5, 1921 in New York, NY to the late Mrs. Martarano Providence and the late Mr. Thomas Giallombardo. Marie was a member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church. In recent years she resided at Franke at Seaside where she enjoyed making new friends and learning new crafts. Her favorite hobby was baking, followed by playing bingo and other card games, and she especially enjoyed interacting with the Franke staff. Her family will remember her as a loving wife, mother, daughter and friend. She is survived by her son, Thomas Anthony DeMere, of Boynton Beach, FL; her daughter, Paula Maria Silverman and her son-in-law, Ronald H. Silverman, of Charleston, SC. She was predeceased by her parents and her loving husband of 61 years, Lawrence Anthony DeMere. A Memorial service will be held at the Rodenberg Chapel, Franke at Seaside on Thursday September 1, 2016 at 10:30 AM. Pastor Sherry Owensby will be officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation can be made in her memory to Lutheran Hospice, 1885 Rifle Range Road, #46, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
