Marion M. Martin

Marion (Mirney) M. Martin, 77, of Calhoun Falls, SC died on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC. Mirney was born on January 28, 1938 in Anderson, SC to the late Jim Ben Martin and the late Onie Dillard Martin. Mirney was a member of the United Methodist Church in Calhoun Falls, SC. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a devout Christian man and his family will remember him as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Each family member will now have one of the most precious guardian angels that Heaven holds. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Edna B. Martin, of Calhoun Falls, SC, four daughters: Joyce M. Thomas (Joseph), of Florence, SC; Jennifer M. Parnell (Kevin) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Amy M. Ellis (Kevin) of Morgantown, WV; Lisa M. Darling of Charleston, SC; and one son: Andy M. Martin (Kela), of London, KY. He was blessed with ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He is survived by one brother, William T. Martin (Sandra) of Wake Forest, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura A. Martin and a grandson, Joshua M. Thomas. He was also predeceased by two brothers, James Martin and Richard Martin and a sister, Ellen M. Chrisley. Memorial donations may be made in his honor to The Rachel Darling Trust Fund, c/o Joyce Thomas, 1419 Fairfax Rd.,Florence, SC 29501. A Memorial Service will be held at The Calhoun Falls United Methodist Church, Jackson Street, Calhoun Falls, SC on July 18 at 11:00 am with the Reverend Frank McCoy officiating.
