Martha Free Sutton, of James Island , passed away on October 19, 2021. Martha was born on August 26, 1941in Wedgefield, SC. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Goodman) Free and sister to the late Joe Free.
On August 11, 1963 Martha married the love of her life, David Sutton, who predeceased her in 1986.
Martha had a nursing career in Greenville and, after moving to the Charleston area, at MUSC for 14 years until she retired.
Always with a sweet smile, Martha loved a good laugh and getting together with friends and family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on October 28, 2021 at the James Island Presbyterian Church, 1632 Fort Johnson Road, Charleston, SC, 29412 where she was a member. Memorials may be made to the James Island Presbyterian Church.
