Mary Ellen Mattox (Bearden)

Mary Ellen Mattox, 80, of Orangeburg, SC, passed away at PruittHealth Nursing Home in Bamberg on Thursday, November 13, 2014. She was born on September 1, 1934, in Enoree, SC, daughter to the late George and Mary (Bennett) Bearden. She was a retired private duty nurse. She is survived by a daughter, Kathryn “Kitty” Graham of Orangeburg; two sons, Samuel “Sammy” Bunch, Jr. of Orangeburg and Robert “Rock” Bunch of Darlington, 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, a sister, Hazel Floyd of Clinton, TN. Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by a son, Ronald “Ronnie” Bunch, two grandchildren, Bryan Chesser and Kristina “Krissy” Chesser, one great granddaughter, Kaylee Bunch and one brother, Rayford Bearden. Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation 1 hour prior to the service at 1PM, Sunday, November, 16, 2014 at Word of Life Pentecostal Holiness Church, 85 North St., Bamberg, funeral services beginning at 2PM. Burial will follow at South End Cemetery, North Carlisle St., Bamberg. Rev. Clyde Bearden will be officiating.
