Maxine Marie Greer (nee Le Fever) passed quietly in her residence at Bishop Gadsden in Charleston, SC on Friday, December 21, 2018. She was 96 years old.
Mrs. Greer was born on June 27, 1922 in Canaan Township, Ohio to her parents, John and Edna Le Fever. She was married in 1953 to H. Harrison (Harry) Greer, who predeceased her in 2003. They lived most of the time in St. Louis and Florida, where she spent many years working with the Venice Hospital Foundation. Maxine moved to Bishop Gadsden in 2005.
Mrs. Greer is survived by her loving step sons: Henry (Hank) Greer and Stephen Greer and their wives, Laurel and Mary; four grandchildren and their spouses: Jon and Karen, Chris and Lauren, Derek, and Sherry; her six great grandchildren: Paige, Reid, Ryan, Hayden, Evan and Emma; and six nieces and nephews and their families.
Maxine will be buried with her husband Harry in Ohio in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Charleston Animal Society in memory of Maxine Greer and her beloved pet, Heidi.
