Michael Layton Cherry

Michael Layton Cherry, 28, of Knoxville, entered into the arms of his Savior and Lord on April 04, 2020.

Born on March 31, 1992 in College Station, Texas, Michael was the son of Alan and Suzanne Cameron-Cherry and Mike Cherry.

Michael, a devout Christian, graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Electrical Engineering in May 2015; he was also a graduate of Emmanuel Baptist School in Hartsville, SC. Michael currently worked at BSH in Caryville, TN, and had previously worked at A.O. Smith in Hartsville, SC. A member of City Church in Knoxville, Michael loved spending time with friends and family, helping other people, dreaming big, designing circuits, creating and using technology, racing and rebuilding cars, renovating and restoring houses, playing music, bowling, model railroading, inventing, and making craft beer.

Besides his parents, Michael is survived by brothers Bryce (Janet) Cherry, Denbigh (Stephanie) Cherry, James Cameron, and Ian (Carrie) Cameron; by sisters Carole Cameron and Christy (Patrick) Summerau; his beloved Nana, Jean (Haynes) Rhodes; Uncles Ed (Diane) Collins, Mike (Helen) Collins, and Bill (Peg) Collins; Aunt Janet Cherry; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and close friends and church family members in Tennessee and South Carolina. His roommates (Brandon, Nicholas, and Tyler) and Life Group members were especially important to him.

The service will be a graveside service held at Carolina Memorial Gardens April 10, 2020 at 1 p.m. Followed by burial afterwards. Memorial Services will be scheduled at a future date in both Goose Creek, SC and Knoxville, TN.
