Milton Prue Blanchett, III, 58, of Charleston, SC, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 20, 2015, after suffering from a heart attack. He was born on Thursday, January 31, 1957, in South Boston, VA, to Edith Williams Blanchett and the late Milton Prue Blanchett, Jr. Milton’s family moved to Cheraw, SC, after living ten years in Virginia. In 1967, the family moved to Summerville, SC, where Milton graduated from Summerville High School in 1975. He attended the College of Charleston, graduating in 1979, where he as the president of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Milton’s employment included Dixie Auto Parts Company, Coastal Glass Company and most recently, Aldora Glass Company. He also worked part-time as a tax preparer with H&R Block. Milton was a member of The Presbyterian Church. In later years, he was an active member of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Church in North Charleston, where he served as treasurer for many years. Milton will be remembered as a kind, gentle, loving man who was loved by many people. He is survived by his loving partner, Keith B. Mason, of Charleston, SC. On February 14, 2015, they were united in marriage. He is also survived by his mother, Edith Williams Blanchett, of Columbia, SC; two sisters: Kathy Johnson of Greenwood, SC and Mary Jean Fried of Lake Worth, FL; two nieces; two nephews; one great-nephew; and many other family members and loved ones. A Memorial Service will be held at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Mary MacKellar officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smile Train, P.O.
