Nicholas Gus Russos

Nicholas Gus Russos, III, 33, of Charleston, SC, passed away October 3, 2015. He was born on February 20, 1982 in Raleigh, NC to Nick G. Russos, Jr. and Linda Johnson Krooswyk. Nick moved to Charleston in 1998, when his mother remarried. He graduated from Berkeley High School and then attended Midlands Technical College in Columbia, where he obtained an Associate’s Degree in Automotive Technology. He and his wife Jennie were married October 2009 and welcomed their beautiful son Ransom into the world on Christmas Eve 2014. Nick was gregarious, had a kind heart, and loved his family. He was happiest in the sun and surf or riding motorcycles. He was crazy about the Gamecocks and could lose a lot of time on the computer. Nick is survived by his wife Jennie Spruill Russos; son, Ransom Clinton Russos; mother and stepfather, Linda and Bill Krooswyk; father and stepmother, Nick and Revonda Russos; stepmother, Shari Hooker; sister, Rachel Russos; stepbrothers, Steve Krooswyk and his wife Brittany and Jim Krooswyk and his wife Heather; his “Grammy” Sally Edwards; his “Pappou” Nick Russos, Sr.,; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors, Thursday, October 15, 2015, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, in McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel. The funeral service will also be held in the Goose Creek Chapel which is scheduled for noon on Friday, October 16, 2015. The burial will immediately follow at Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner, SC. Close friends and family are welcome to attend a gathering, hosted by Becky Davis, Maria Hussey and Shari Hooker after the burial service.
