Patricia Ann Lewis
January 31, 1949 — July 10, 2019
Patricia Ann Higgins Lewis, 70, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, passed away surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer on July 10, 2019.
She was born and raised in Pennsgrove, New Jersey. She moved to South Carolina, Virginia and then back to South Carolina in 2001.
Patricia worked in the mortgage banking industry most of her life. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend; who passionately loved her family. She was an avid animal lover, who went out of her way to help everyone around her. Her favorite hobbies were reading and crocheting; having made hundreds of hats, scarves, blankets, baby blankets and booties for friends and family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Norman Lewis Sr.; her children, Norman Lewis Jr and his fiancee Laura Ransom, Renee Lewis Rodgers and her husband Kevin Auberry, and Kelly Lewis Proveaux; her brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Elaine Higgins; and her grandchildren, John Rodgers Jr., Chelsea Sones, Cody Sones, Troy Wood and Caleb Reuer. She also had several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, William and Eileen Higgins, her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Carol Higgins; her grandson, Storm Lewis and her nephew Michael Higgins.
In accordance with Patricia's wishes, there will not be any formal services. In lieu of flowers, we would like to encourage donations in Patricia's memory to your local SPCA, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or MUSC Hollings Cancer Research Center.
Patricia requested that the family recite the following poem by Laura Ingles Wilder-
"Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you all. If you can only remember me with tears, then (please) don't remember me at all."
