Robert A. Lambert

Robert A. Lambert, 81, of Goose Creek, passed away March 28, 2014. Born in Cannelton, WV, he was the son of Mary Emma McKinney and the late Raymond McKinney and husband to Peggy Lambert. Robert served his country in the United States Marine Corps and retired as a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy. During his military career he served in Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Lambert later retired from the Robert Bosch Corporation after working many years in maintenance. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Robert was a member of First Baptist Church of Goose Creek. He never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone. He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Lambert; daughter, Dee Anne Avant and husband Rayford of Cottageville; two granddaughters, Shanna Marie Wright and Crystal Lynn Avant; great granddaughter, Tiffany Brooke Wright; mother, Mary Emma McKinney; four sisters, Julia Ann Hamrick, Margaret Bowen, Lisa Goff and Bonnie Brandy; brother, Pat Jo McKinney. Mr. Lambert is predeceased by his father; two brothers, Sonny McKinney and Ronald Lambert; three sisters, Mary Lee McKinney, Margaret Bass and Betty Jo Bryant. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 31, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church of Goose Creek. Burial will follow in Plantation Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to service from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the church.
