Robert Richard Forte

Mount Pleasant, SC Mr. Robert Richard Forte, 87, of Mount Pleasant, SC entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 30, 2016 surrounded by his family. Born on February 9, 1929 in Bronx, NY, he was a son of the late Pasquale Forte and the late Mary Filippelli Forte. Robert was an Emmy Award winning Editor/Producer for CBS 60 Minutes and CBS Sports for over 35 years, working closely with his great friend, Andy Rooney. Robert will be missed by his wife, Sheena, along with 8 children; Linda Forte-Haggerty, Susan Forte, Thomas Forte, Nancy Forte, Carol Forte, Graham Forte, Jennifer Forte, Lara Forte and 3 grandchildren; Mhairi, Isla and Robert. He was predeceased by 2 children and 2 brothers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 5pm – 7pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11am on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 950 Darrell Creek Trail, Mt Pleasant, SC 29466. The Rite of Committal will immediately follow at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
