Robert Shelton

Robert Delane Shelton, 53, of North Charleston, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014. He was born September 18, 1960 in Chadbourn, NC to Robert Shelton and Mary Porter Shelton. Robert served his country as a fire fighter in the United States Navy. He then attended Junior College at Trident Technical School where he earned his certificate to become a teacher’s assistant. He served in the children’s ministry of World Overcomers Ministry for several years. In 2004 Robert worked as a teacher’s assistant with special needs children at Midland Park Elementary. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the drums and was an avid Carolina Panther’s fan. He is survived by his brother, Charles Porter and his wife, Janice, of Virginia, his sister, Sarah Showers of North Carolina, his son, Robert Anthony Shelton, of North Charleston, Gloria Cuttino Shelton, the mother of his son and former wife, of North Charleston and several nieces, nephews and a host of other friends and relatives. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 1st, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.
