Rose Agnes Carradus, 91, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. She was born December 2, 1923 in New York City, NY, to the late Catherine Tracey Carradus and the late William Carradus. Rose was a Navy veteran of WWII. After serving, she worked as an administrative assistant at Dupont in the Empire State Building, until she retired in 1985 and moved to Charleston, SC, to be with family. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Rose loved books, music and old movies. Her family will remember her as a loving Aunt and a charitable woman. Rose is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Catherine Dixon of Charleston. She is survived by her nephew, David Dixon and his wife, Nancy, of Charleston, SC; her niece, Joan Strickland of Westerly, RI; and many grand nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 30, 2015, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, West Ashley Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, on Monday, August 31, 2015, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1695 Raoul Wallenberg Boulevard, Charleston, SC 29407, with Father A. Joseph Rayappan officiating. Burial will follow in the Live Oak Memorial Gardens cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Carter May Assisted Living and Life Care Center of Charleston for the loving care provided to Aunt Rose.
