Ruth A. Giammusso

Ruth A. Giammusso, 91, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015. She was born on Monday, February 11, 1924 in Marion Center, PA to the late Rev. Frederick A. Edmond and the late Mrs. Beulah M. Edmond. Ruth was one of seven children. Growing up in Pennsylvania, she and her sisters sang at their father’s church. She graduated from nursing school and shortly after she was married to her loving husband of 64 years, Dr. Anthony P. Giammusso. They traveled with the U.S. Navy and had many wonderful memories and experiences. Ruth enjoyed volunteering at various military hospitals, working with the military women’s clubs, and playing bridge. She was a very generous lady and enjoyed entertaining. Her family remembers her as a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She is survived by her youngest brother, Fredrick A. Edmond (Fae), of Michigan; her daughter, Kimberlee A. Donaldson (Malcolm), of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and her three grandchildren, Kori A Welch, Amanda S. Welch and Gloriannah N. Donaldson; one great grandson, Howard V. Welch; and many loved nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. A short prayer vigil will begin at 6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ Our King Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
