Ruth (Jeffords) Phillips

Ida Mae Ruth Jeffords Phillips, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, SC entered into eternal peace on Monday, May 23, 2016. She was born on March 2, 1935 in Florence, SC to the late Mrs. Sarah Virginia Jeffords and the late Mr. John Wesley Jeffords. Ruth was the true matriarch of the family and will be missed by all. In addition to being a caregiver herself for many years, she shared her strong Christian beliefs and faith with everyone she came in contact with. Her family will remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is survived by three loving Daughters; Beverly Griffin (Jim), Vivian Delores Minnix (Freddie) and Joyce Ann Hannah, all of Mt. Pleasant, SC; four grandchildren, Christopher James Griffin, Randall Coy Griffin (Anna), Logan Casey Minnix, and Justin Michael Hannah (Gretchen); two great grandchildren, Samantha Rayne Hannah and Tyson Wright. She was predeceased by her parents; spouse, Joseph Phillips; two sisters and one brother. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Florence, SC. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimer’s Association, Amedisys Hospice Care, or East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO).
